Four-Year-Old Kindergarten

Students in our 4K program attend school five days per week from 8:30 to 11:40 a.m. The 4K program at Lincoln-Erdman is an interactive learning experience focused on exploration and play. In this program, students engage in a structured daily routine that includes playtime, fine- and gross-motor skill development, brief group sessions, reading, writing, and hands-on activities. Through these experiences, students also cultivate social and emotional skills while learning in a fun and engaging environment.

A snapshot of the skills your child will learn throughout the year is listed below. More details for each of these skills and how progress is assessed will be shared throughout the school year.

4K School Calendar

A young child with a happy expression is sliding down a blue playground slide, surrounded by a colorful outdoor play area.

Children learn most effectively at this age through social play. Most academic and social skills necessary for success in kindergarten and subsequent years of education are addressed through organized activities in centers around the classroom.

Class Dojo is an app used for communication between teachers and parents. Parents receive instant daily feedback on their child's behavior, along with pictures and videos of their child's classroom learning.
